Review and pay
The last two steps of an order. Check the price, delivery time and photo size on Review, then pay with your balance, PayPal or a card on Pay.
Every new order goes through three steps: Photos & instructions, Review and Pay. This page covers the last two. On Review you check what the order will cost and when it will arrive; on Pay the order is actually placed. Nothing is charged until you finish the Pay step.
Before you start
You reach Review from the workspace by selecting Continue to review in Order summary. The button works once:
- at least one photo is in Photos to edit,
- every upload has finished, and none is left failed,
- your changes are saved, and
- the order carries instructions somewhere: at least 4 characters in Project instructions, a marked area on a photo, a note for a whole photo, or a group’s instructions. With all of them empty you see Please add your instructions before continuing. and the cursor jumps to Project instructions.
See Upload photos and Write editing instructions for the workspace itself.
The price and delivery time on this page are estimates, not guarantees. Our system can’t tell in advance how long each photo will really take — the final cost and time are set once an editor starts working on it.

The page header reads New order with the order number, for example #a8k2m, and the step bar shows Review as the current step. There is no photo grid and nothing to set per photo: every photo in Photos to edit costs the same.
Check these before you pay
The top panel holds three numbered points, worked out from your order. The link on the right of its title, for example 12 photos · 2 reference — change, takes you back to the workspace.
- Price. The title says what you pay, for example 12 credits for 12 photos. Underneath, it reminds you that reference images are free and are only looked at, not edited. If you want something from a reference image in the result — its background, the sky, a face — move it to Photos to edit first.
- Delivery. Small orders read About 24 hours after you pay. Larger ones say how long and why, for example About 42 hours, not 24 hours with “12 photos take longer than a small order.” Both end with the same promise: there is no rush option, but if you have a deadline, write it in your instructions and we try to meet it at no extra cost.
- Size. Normally Edited photos keep your originals’ size. If a photo to edit is less than 1,600 pixels on its long side, this point turns amber and names it, for example IMG_2031.jpg is only 1200 × 800 px: fine for screens and social media, too small for a large print.
On the right, Order total shows the price in credits with US$8.00 per credit. Before your balance and any coupon., the Est. delivery, and small thumbnails of the photos to edit.
How pricing and delivery work
Below the panel, four questions are answered in full, so you know the rules before you pay:
- When can the price go up? One credit covers about 20 minutes of editing. The price goes up only when a photo takes much longer — a reference image has to be edited or used in the result (+1 credit), the edit is very complex, or the photo is very high resolution or meant for a large print — and never without your OK. We pause that photo and message you with the extra amount; if you say no, you drop that part and we refund it.
- How big will my edited photos be? The same pixel size as your originals. A combined photo is limited by the smallest of its sources.
- What can delay delivery? Unclear instructions, waiting for your OK on an extra charge, or a photo that is too small or blurry for what you asked. In each case we ask first, and a quick reply keeps your delivery on time.
- Can I cancel or get a refund? You can cancel within 15 minutes of paying. Revisions that build on your original instructions are free, and if the result is still not right after a revision, we refund you in full. The full rules are in the revision policy.
Ask before you pay
If something about the price is unclear — unusual edits, a large batch, a deadline — use Ask before you pay at the bottom of the page. It sends a question to our team without changing or holding the order. See Ask before you pay.
Go to Pay
The bar at the bottom repeats the numbers, for example 12 photos to edit · Order total 12 credits · Est. delivery 42 hours. Select Proceed to Checkout. Back to photos & instructions returns you to the workspace instead.
Pay
The step bar now shows Pay. The page has the bill on the left and one panel on the right with Total Due, a coupon field and Payment.
The bill
Order summary lists, from top to bottom:
| Row | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Editing photos | The number of photos to edit and their price in credits. (The column header still reads Editing level; there is only one level.) |
| Initial charge | The full price in credits, “Before your balance and any coupon”. Shown when you have credits on your balance. |
| Account balance | The credits you have now, “Available now — spent first”. |
| Subtotal | What is left after your balance, in credits and in US dollars at US$8.00 per credit. Shown only when your balance does not cover the order. |
| Discount | The coupon you applied, with Remove. |
| Estimated turnaround | The delivery estimate. If other orders of yours are being edited, an amber line says Calculated in combination with 1 other order we are editing for you. |
Total Due
Total Due is the amount you really pay online, after your balance and any coupon — for example US$64.00. When your balance covers everything it is US$0.00, with “Nothing to pay online — this order uses your account balance.”
Your balance is always used first. You cannot choose to keep your credits and pay by card instead.
When your balance covers the order
The Payment area says, for example, “Your account balance of 16 credits covers this order — nothing more to pay.” and “We start editing as soon as the order is placed.”
Select Complete Purchase in the bar at the bottom. It reads Placing your order… while it works; then Your order is placed — we are on it appears and the order page opens.
If your balance does not cover the order
Payment explains the gap, for example “We will use your 4 credits balance first. The remaining US$64.00 needs to be paid online.” With no credits at all it reads “US$64.00 is due before we can start editing.”
Choose PayPal or card
Two buttons sit side by side: Pay US$64.00 with PayPal and Pay US$64.00 with card. There is no Complete Purchase button in this case; the bottom bar says “Pay the remaining US$64.00 with PayPal or card — see Payment.”
Pay on the provider's page
The button changes to Taking you to PayPal… or Taking you to the card payment page… and the whole page moves to PayPal or Stripe. You enter your card or PayPal details there, never in Tucia.
Come back to the result page
When you finish, you return to a page titled Payment with the order number. It checks the payment by itself and, once the order is placed, shows Your order is placed — “Thank you — we received your payment of US$64.00. Your order is placed and we are on it.” Select View order to open the order.
If you cancel on the PayPal or Stripe page, you come back to Pay with Payment was cancelled — “You have not been charged. Choose a payment method below when you are ready.”
What the result page can say
| Message | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Checking your payment… / Your payment is being processed | The provider is still confirming. | Keep the page open; it updates by itself. |
| Payment received — “We are placing your order now.” | The money arrived and the order is being placed. | Wait a few seconds, or leave the page; the order is placed anyway. |
| Your order is placed | Done. | View order. |
| Payment received — 8 credits added to your balance | We could not place the order automatically, for example because it changed while you were paying. The money is safe as credits on your balance. | Back to checkout, check the order, and finish it with your balance. |
| Payment was not completed / Your payment was declined | Nothing was charged. | Back to checkout and try again, or choose the other method. |
| This payment page is out of date | You started a newer payment for this order, so this one was closed. Nothing was charged. | Back to checkout. |
| We could not match this payment automatically | The amount did not match the order. | Write to support@tucia.com with the checkout code shown. |
Rules for online payment
- PayPal and card payments must be at least US$0.50. If a coupon brings the amount below that, both buttons are disabled and the page says “Your coupon covers almost the whole amount. Remove the coupon to pay online, or contact support@tucia.com.”
- If PayPal or the card service is down, the page says so, for example “PayPal is temporarily unavailable. Please try again in a few minutes or use another payment method.”
- If your balance becomes enough while you are on the page, you see Your balance now covers this order and the Payment area switches to Complete Purchase.
Coupons
- Have a coupon code? appears only when there is still money to pay online and no coupon is applied yet. Type the code under Coupon code and select Apply; it stays inactive until you have typed at least 5 characters.
- An accepted code shows Coupon applied, a Discount row and a lower Total Due. Remove takes it off again.
- A refused code shows the reason in red under the field. See Coupons and My coupon is not accepted.
- One coupon per order. A coupon never reduces credits: it only lowers the dollar amount you pay online, so it does nothing when your balance covers the order.
When the page stops you
Each of these protects you from paying a price you have not seen. None of them charges you.
| Message | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Review your order first | You opened Pay without going through Continue to review. | Select Back to photos & instructions, then Continue to review. |
| Your photos changed after you reviewed them | You added, removed or moved photos after Review, so the price may be different. | Same as above. |
| Delivery estimate has been updated | The estimate grew by 6 hours or more while the page was open, for example because another order of yours was placed. | Read the new estimate and place the order again. See Turnaround time. |
| This page is out of date | The summary changed for another reason. | The page refreshes; try again. |
| This order has already been placed | The order was paid in another tab. | You are taken to the order page. |
If you are on a team account
Team members pay from the studio balance. If the account owner has turned that off, Payment says Only the account owner can pay for this order. — “Ask them to sign in and complete it from Drafts. Everything you prepared is saved.” If the studio balance is too low, you see Insufficient balance. Please contact your account owner to top up. Team members cannot pay by PayPal or card.
After you pay
The order shows Being edited and an editor starts. The workspace locks: opening it again takes you to the order page.
For 15 minutes after you pay, the order page shows “Placed this order by mistake? You can cancel it until 3:45 PM and get your credits back.” with Cancel order. Canceling returns the full price to your account balance as credits — not to your card or PayPal — and puts the order back in Drafts with its photos and instructions. See Cancel an order.
