File names of delivered photos
Delivered photos keep the file name you uploaded; a revision adds .xN before the extension, so newer versions never overwrite older ones.
Edited photos come back under the name you gave them, so they line up with your own catalog without renaming anything.
The rule
- The name stays yours.
Cheer.jpgis delivered asCheer.jpg, not as an order number or an internal code. - The extension can change. A RAW file is delivered as a finished image, so
Cheer.cr3comes back asCheer.jpg. - A revision adds
.xNbefore the extension. Photos from the First delivery have no suffix; photos delivered in Revision 1 end in.x1, Revision 2 in.x2, and so on.

The suffix is what keeps a revision from overwriting the version you already saved in the same folder.
Inside an archive
Photos inside a Download All in Full-Res archive follow the same rule. If two photos in one version would end up with the same name — including names that differ only in upper and lower case, which Windows and macOS treat as the same file — one of them gets an extra code added so that nothing is overwritten when you unpack it. Characters that cannot appear in a file name on Windows or macOS, such as /, are replaced inside the archive.
The name of the archive file itself is not a fixed rule and can change between deliveries — sort by download date rather than by archive name if you keep several.
