Change your password
Set a new password on the Security tab, read the password rules and strength bar, reset a password you cannot remember, or set a first password if you signed up with Google.
You change your password on the Security tab of Settings. You need your current password to do it; if you cannot remember it, reset it from the sign-in page instead.
Before you start
Select Settings in the top bar, then the Security tab. The page is headed Security and has one section, Password: Change the password you use to sign in to Tucia.
If you signed up with Google and have never set a password, the section looks different — see If you sign in with Google below.
Steps
Enter your current password
Type the password you use today in Current password. The eye icon at the end of the box shows what you typed.
Choose a new one
Type it in New password. Three rules sit under the box from the start, each with a dash until it is met and a green tick once it is:
8–100 charactersAt least one letterAt least one number
Under them is a suggestion, Mix upper and lower case letters for a stronger password. Once you start typing, a bar appears with a label: Too short, Okay or Strong.
Update the password
Update password turns green once your current password is filled in and the new one meets the three rules. It reads Updating… while it works, then the toast Your password has been updated confirms it and both boxes are cleared.
How the bar reads your password
| Label | When you see it |
|---|---|
Too short |
The password is under 8 characters, however many other rules it meets. The bar is a third full, in amber. |
Okay |
It is long enough but does not have both a number and a mix of upper and lower case. Two thirds full, amber. |
Strong |
At least 8 characters, a number, and upper and lower case letters. Full, in green. |
Okay is good enough to save: Update password only needs the three rules in the list. Mixing upper and lower case is a suggestion, not a requirement.
If you sign in with Google
If you created your account with Sign in with Google, your account has no password and does not need one. The Security tab then reads How you sign in to Tucia. and explains:
You sign in to Tucia with Google, so your account doesn't need a password. If you'd like to sign in on a device where signing in with Google isn't convenient, you can set one up.
Set a password takes you to the password page on tucia.com. Enter the email address you sign in with and we email you a link to set a password. After that you can sign in either way: with Google, or with your email and the new password.
If you forgot your password
You cannot change your password inside the portal without the current one. Go to tucia.com/auth/forgot-password — or select Forgot password? on the sign-in page — enter your email address, and we email you a link to set a new one.
Rules and limits

What happens next
- Every other device signed in to app.tucia.com is signed out at that moment. To use Tucia there again, sign in with the new password.
- The device you changed it on stays signed in. You stay on the Security tab.
- We send an email to your sign-in address to say the password was changed. If you did not change it, write to support@tucia.com straight away.
