Request a revision
Send a delivered order back for changes, either by marking the area on the photo or by ticking the revision box on a message.
Revisions are free. If a delivered photo is not what you asked for, send it back and the same editor works on it again. There are two ways to do it: a box drawn on the photo with a note, which is the clearest, or a message with the revision box ticked.
Before you start
The order has to be Ready for your review, or Closed less than 14 days ago. Notes can only be added to the latest version — earlier versions are read-only, because nobody would act on a request written on a delivery that has already been replaced.
Mark the area on the photo
Open the photo
On the Edited tab, point at a photo of the latest version and click Revise this image in its bottom-right corner. Or click the photo to open the compare view and use the green Revise this image button at the top. On a phone or tablet, tap the photo first — the button on the card only appears with a mouse.
Drag a box over the area you mean
The revision notes view opens with the hint Drag a box on the photo to show us exactly what to revise. and an amber warning: Saving a note here sends this order back to your editor for another revision. Delivered photos only take boxes — the Rectangle tool on the left.
Describe the change and save
A field appears under the box: What should we do here? Write at least 3 characters and click ✓, or press Enter. A message confirms Revision note saved — we are on it. The × next to the field throws the box away.
Add more notes if you need to
The order is now Being revised. Every box gets its own number and color, and the list under Marked areas on the right shows them all. Move to another photo with the arrows at the top or the thumbnails at the bottom, and click Done when you have finished.
Ask by message instead
If the change applies to the whole set, or you cannot point at one spot, use the Messages tab: write what you want, tick Check this if you’re requesting a new revision, and click the button, which now reads Send and request revision. The confirmation reads Revision requested — we are on it, and the message carries a Revision requested label in the conversation.
The checkbox only appears when a revision is actually possible: while the order is Ready for your review, or Closed and still inside the 14-day window.
Rules and limits
- Revisions are free when the request follows your original instructions and is clear, reasonable and technically possible. Starting over in a new direction is a new order, not a revision.
- Only the latest delivered version accepts notes. Earlier versions show Revision notes can only be added to the latest version.
- Each revision request moves the order to Being revised, raises the revision number by one, and starts a new delivery estimate. The new estimate is at least 24 hours, or half of the original delivery time if that is longer.
- While the order is Being revised — or Waiting on your reply during a revision — you can keep adding notes. The button on each photo reads + Add note, and new notes go to the editor with the round already in progress.
- After the order closes you have 14 days to send it back once more. In that window the button on each photo reads + Add revision note. After that, the notes view says You can no longer add revision notes to this photo.
- Notes cannot be removed while the order is Ready for your review. While it is Being revised, notes from an earlier round cannot be removed, and you cannot remove the last note of a round you started with notes alone.
What happens next
The order changes to Being revised and the editor starts the next round with a new delivery estimate. When the new version arrives, the order returns to Ready for your review and the Edited tab shows it as Revision 1, Revision 2 and so on, labeled Latest. The version it replaces is one click away under Show the earlier version.
