Cancel an order

Cancel a freshly placed order within 15 minutes, get your credits back immediately, and keep the photos and instructions in your drafts.

If you place an order and immediately notice something wrong — the wrong photos, a missing instruction, the wrong project — you can cancel it yourself for a short while after paying. Your credits go straight back to your balance.

Before you start

For 15 minutes after you place an order, an amber note sits above the tabs of the order page: Placed this order by mistake? You can cancel it until 3:45 PM and get your credits back. — with the time your window ends — and a Cancel order button on its right. When the time is up, the note disappears on its own: an editor has already started, and the way to change something is to message your editor.

Steps

Open the order you just placed

You land on it after paying. Otherwise open it from Orders in the top bar; it is under Editing.

Click Cancel order in the amber note

The note is under the order name and the card that says Your photos are being edited, just above the Submission, Messages and Edited tabs.

Confirm in the dialog

The dialog asks Cancel this order? and explains: Your credits go back to your balance right away. The photos and instructions stay in your drafts, so you can place the order again whenever you are ready. Choose the red Cancel order to go ahead, or Keep the order to back out. The red button reads Canceling… while it works.

Order canceled — your credits are back in your balance.

Rules and limits

  • The window is 15 minutes from the moment you place the order. After that the amber note is gone and the order can no longer be canceled from the portal.
  • The credits you paid go back to your account balance immediately, in full — you see the new balance in the top bar straight away.
  • Nothing is thrown away: the order goes back to Drafts with its photos, reference images, instructions and notes, ready to be placed again.
  • Canceling is something you do yourself. Tucia may also cancel and refund an order that is outside what we can edit — see When would my order be rejected?.

What happens next

You land on the Drafts tab of your order list with a confirmation that reads Order canceled — your credits are back in your balance. Open the draft to fix whatever was wrong and place it again, or delete it with the bin icon on its row if you no longer need it — see Delete a draft order.

After the 15 minutes are up, message the editor instead. Small corrections early in the work are usually easy, and adding a note to a photo on a placed order is expected — it just updates the delivery estimate.
