Your first order
Place an order end to end: add photos and instructions in the workspace, check the price on Review, and pay with the credits on your balance.
This walkthrough takes one order through the three steps of the Client Portal: Photos & instructions, Review and Pay. It assumes you already have enough credits on your account balance, so there is nothing to pay online. Allow about five minutes, plus the upload time.
Before you start
- You are signed in to the Client Portal at app.tucia.com.
- Every photo you want edited costs 1 credit, and one credit is US$8.00. Reference images — examples of the look you want — are free.
- Your balance covers the order. Your balance is shown in the top bar, for example 16 credits. If it is not enough, you can pay the rest with PayPal or a card on the Pay step; see Review and pay.
- The photos are on the computer or phone you are working on.

Steps
Start a new order
Select New order in the top bar. The portal creates a draft straight away and opens its workspace. A Drafts link with a count appears in the top bar, so you can come back to this order later.
At the top of the workspace, click Untitled project and type a name, for example Spring lookbook. It is saved automatically, like everything else on this page: the header shows Saving… and then Saved · just now.
Add your photos
Drag your photos onto Drag photos here to start, or select Choose photos. Uploading starts at once, three files at a time. Every photo lands in Photos to edit.
When the first photo is in, the right-hand column appears with Project instructions and Order summary.
Move reference images out of the paid group
Once there are two photos, a second group appears: Reference images — “Won’t be edited · no charge”. Drag any photo that only shows the look you want into it, or use ⋯ on the photo and choose Reference images. It stops costing a credit straight away, and Order summary shows it as Reference photos · free.
Tell the editor what to change
Write in Project instructions: what you want done to every photo. You have 5,000 characters, and there is no submit button.
For one photo, click it to open it large, write a Note for this photo, or drag a box on the area that should change and describe it. See Write editing instructions and Annotate a photo.
Continue to review
Check Order summary — for example Editing photos 12, Reference photos 2 · free, Total 12 credits, Est. delivery 42 h — and select Continue to review.
Check the three points on Review
Check these before you pay confirms the price, the delivery time and the size of your edited photos. If something is off, the link next to the title takes you back to the photos. Otherwise select Proceed to Checkout.
Place the order
On Pay, Total Due is US$0.00 and the page says “Your account balance of 16 credits covers this order — nothing more to pay.” Select Complete Purchase.
Your order is placed — we are on it appears, the order page opens, and the order shows Being edited. Your balance in the top bar drops by the price.
Rules and limits
- Up to 500 MB per file. JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, TIFF, PSD and camera RAW files are accepted, and an XMP sidecar pairs itself with the RAW file of the same name. See Supported photo formats.
- Your account may have a limit on photos per order, shown in the workspace header as, for example,
14 / 20 photos. Without a limit it just says14 photos. - An order needs at least one photo in Photos to edit, and instructions somewhere: at least 4 characters in Project instructions, a marked area, a note for a whole photo, or a group’s instructions.
- Every photo to edit is 1 credit; reference images are free. There are no editing levels to choose and no rush option.
- Your balance is always used first. If it does not cover the order, you pay the rest online with PayPal or a card on the Pay step.
- You can start at most 300 new orders in 24 hours.
What happens next
An editor starts on the order. From the order page you can message the editor and follow the estimated delivery date. If you placed the order by mistake, Cancel order is available for 15 minutes after you pay, and the credits go straight back to your balance.
When the first version is delivered, the order shows Ready for your review: compare, download, approve, or ask for a revision. See How Tucia works for the rest of the cycle.
