Bring back lost details in overexposed photos with our photo reconstruction service. A human editor restores washed-out faces, corrects unnatural lighting, and rebuilds skin texture, hair detail, and background elements, using AI recovery tools only for narrow steps such as denoising. Ideal for salvaging important portraits, old film scans, and precious family memories. This premium-level edit is carefully handcrafted and typically takes around 40 minutes of hands-on editing per photo (2 credits). Suitable for professionals, archivists, and anyone who values high-quality recovery.
What can and cannot be recovered
Overexposure destroys detail in the brightest areas of a photo. Where some texture survives, the editor can rebuild skin, hair, and fabric by hand. Where an area is pure white with nothing left in the file, the detail has to be reconstructed from the surrounding context and from reference photos of the same person. We will tell you before starting if a photo is too far gone for a faithful result.
What to send us
The highest-resolution version you have: the original camera file or a flatbed scan of a print, not a screenshot. If you have other photos of the same person from the same period, upload them as references so facial features are rebuilt accurately rather than guessed.
Good to know
This example is a 2-credit edit (about US$16). Severely damaged images may need more editing time; the editor will let you know before any extra credits are used. For scratched or torn prints rather than overexposure, see our damaged photo restoration example.
